Overview

Crown Land leases are issued for various uses under the following categories: Commercial, Communication, Institutional, Utility, Industrial, Transportation, Municipal Services , Shooting Range, and Camp lot.

Eligibility

· Applicants must be at least 19 years of age.

· Businesses must be registered with Corporate Affairs in New Brunswick and provide a copy of their Certificate of Incorporation.

· Institutional leases are issued to non-profit organizations only. Applicants must be registered as a charitable organization with Corporate Affairs in New Brunswick and provide a copy of their Letters Patent.

· For a Commercial or Industrial Lease application, a Site Development Plan must be included (blank copy at end of application package)

Applications that do not meet the basic eligibility requirements will be rejected.

Description

Most leases are issued for 10 years. Commercial, Communication and Industrial leases are issued for 20 years.

Lessees are responsible for paying rental and property taxes on a per year basis.

Note: *Residential leases are no longer issued.
