Overview

Medical gas licences authorize the holder to work on medical gas piping systems.

Eligibility

To obtain a Class F Medical Gas Installer Compressed Gas Licence, applicants must hold a certificate of qualification in the plumbing, steafitter-pipefitter or welding trade, or have experience in servicing medical gas piping systems which is satisfactory to the Gas Board. Applicants must also successfully pass a brazer performance qualification test in accordance with a registered brazing procedure.

To obtain a Class G Medical Gas Verifier Compressed Gas Licence, applicants must hold a Class F Medical Gas Licence for at least one (1) year and must successfully complete a training program and examination which is acceptable to the Gas Board.

Description

A Class F Medical Gas Installer Compressed Gas Licence authorizes the holder to install, service and repair medical gas piping systems in accordance with registered procedures.

A Class G Medical Gas Verifier Compressed Gas Licence authorizes the holder to verify medical gas piping systems in accordance with an inspection and test plan, subject to an audit by a boiler inspector.
