Overview

Expedited arbitration is an option open to parties to a grievance arising from a collective agreement. This process allows a grievance to be settled by a single arbitrator within a set time limit.

Eligibility

Parties to collective agreement under the jurisdiction of the Industrial Relations Act.

Description

Expedited Arbitration can be requested when the grievance procedure under a collective agreement has been exhausted or 30 days have elapsed since the grievance was first brought to the attention of the other party, whichever comes first.
