FREDERICTON (GNB) – The four companies selected as finalists for the first Quebec-New Brunswick Innovation and Marketing Award were revealed today.

The award was launched in 2019 during the World Acadian Congress and is given out every two years to a New Brunswick and a Quebec company that have been the most outstanding in terms of marketing by using innovative approaches while doing business in French in the two provinces.

“I am delighted to join with my Quebec colleague, Minister Sonia LeBel, to announce the names of the finalists in the first Quebec-New Brunswick Innovation and Marketing Awards and to thank all the businesses that submitted their name for this award, which highlights the advantages of doing business in French and the economic vitality between our two provinces,” said Glen Savoie, the minister responsible for La Francophonie. “I wish our two New Brunswick finalists and those from Quebec the best of luck as the results are revealed in September at the Rendez-vous Acadie-Québec.”

The first New Brunswick finalist is Transmed, which offers medical report transcription services and translation in various fields. It was chosen because of its important historical business relationship with its Quebec clientele, its innovative human resource management practices, and its exemplary action in promoting French in its business strategy.

Lizotte Machine Vision, which manufactures grading and sorting systems for foods used in the food manufacturing field, is the second New Brunswick company chosen. It has distinguished itself in business development by consolidating an extensive clientele in the food processing sector in Quebec, a complex and rapidly evolving field.

“As I often say, the Francophonie should be considered an investment, not an expense,” said Sonia LeBel, the Quebec Minister of Canadian Relations and the Canadian Francophonie “It is therefore truly a pleasure to see our local companies distinguishing themselves and prospering, while making the preservation of our beautiful French language a priority. I extend my sincere thanks to all the companies that entered and congratulate the four finalists retained in the qualifying stage. I can hardly wait to announce the winners with my counterpart this September at the Rendez-vous Acadie-Québec, a not-to-be-missed networking and business development hub.”

The first Quebec finalist is QSL, a company specializing in port terminal operations, stowage, logistics, and transportation.

The second Quebec finalist is Videns Analytics, which specializes in data valuation.

The two winners of the Innovation and Marketing Award will be revealed in connection with the next Rendez-vous Acadie-Québec in September 2021.
