Overview

A pipeline licence authorizes an applicant to operate a pipeline to transport oil, gas or minerals. Certain types of pipeline installations, such as those wholly located within the property of a plant may be exempted from the requirement to apply for a licence.

Does not apply to pipelines for which there is in force a certificate or an order exempting the pipeline under the National energy Board Act.(Canada)

Eligibility

Any company wishing to operate a pipeline must be a corporation, partnership or limited partnership authorized by the Province to carry on a business in the Province.

Must submit to random EUB inspection.

Description

An application for a licence must be made to the Energy and Utilities Board including information as required by legislation. The Board will fix a proceeding for deciding the application.

No renewal fee but there is an annual admin fee payable to EUB.
