The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the travelling public that the Florenceville Bridge (Hwy 130) will be reduced to one lane of controlled traffic from April 3, 2023, until September 30, 2023, to accommodate the remaining phases of the bridge rehabilitation project.
Traffic signals and heavy equipment will be on site. Delays are expected in both directions approaching the bridge during this period. The department appreciates the public's patience.

The Florenceville Bridge was built in 1965 across the St. John River in Florenceville-Bristol. The bridge was part of the former Trans-Canada Highway network prior to the construction of the current four-lane highway and the bridge is heavily used by industry, local farmers and businesses.
In 2018, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure started repairs on the Florenceville Bridge, which are ongoing. The repairs include replacing the deck, barriers and railings, upgrading the bridge approaches and refurbishing the bridge piers. The project is currently into its final of four phases, with completion of the project expected by fall of 2024.
Once complete, the lifespan of the bridge will be extended by another 30 years.
- Phase 1: Replacing bearings at Pier 14 and doing some repairs to the pier and beams.

- Phase 2: Complete replacement of the approach structure.

- Phase 3: Replacing the bearings at Pier 8 and rehabilitation of the deck at the north approach spans which includes replacement of the barriers and railings.
Status: Completed
- Phase 4: Includes the deck rehabilitation of the south approach and main span which includes replacement of the barriers and railings.
Status: Single lane closures are planned from April 3 to September 30 in 2023 and 2024.
