FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government has introduced a new tender advertisement schedule intended to make it easier for contractors to prepare for Department of Transportation and Infrastructure projects.

“By incorporating a new tender ad schedule, contractors will now have a better gauge for government project tenders, posting dates and planned work,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Jeff Carr. “This online document provides an instant benefit to builders and designers when considering their bids and provides the level of transparency and accountability stakeholders expect in the public tender process.”

The announcement was made on the closing day of the 65th annual general meeting of the New Brunswick Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association in Fredericton.

The schedule will post the list of proposed tenders in an easy-to-navigate format, allowing contractors to better plan and schedule their work. It will provide quick access to details such as the category of work, the location, a description of the project and tentative posting dates for tenders.

The current tendering process will not change. Submission information will still be available as per directives outlined by the New Brunswick Opportunities Network, which is operated by Service New Brunswick.

Information about tenders is available online.
