Overview
In New Brunswick, all first-time hunters as well as persons born on, or after, January 1, 1981 are required to complete Firearm Safety / Hunter Education training before they may hunt in the province.
Hunter Education (Part B) training may be completed online as an alternative to the classroom or home study course.

Must be at least 12 years of age.
Description
Online registration and payment of the course fee provides students access to the course materials including videos, animated instruction, and quizzes. Students are able to log in and study at their own pace using multiple devices including smartphones, tablets or computers.
Hunter Education topics include ecology and wildlife management, hunter ethics and responsibilities, hunting laws, navigation skills, hunter survival skills and wildlife identification. A limited number of firearm topics, such as proper shot placement, are also covered.
The final exam is a 50 question multiple choice and true/false test done online once the student completes a review of the course material and end-of chapter quizzes.
Upon successful completion of the Hunter Education Course (Part B), students who do not already have firearm safety training may register for the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (Part A). This course is offered in a classroom setting only.
Completion of both Parts A and B is required by first-time hunters or persons born on, or after, Jan.1, 1981 to purchase a New Brunswick hunting licence.
