IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, A POTENTIAL POISONING OR A REQUEST FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY.

The Poison Information line provides high-priority response with poison information to New Brunswick residents and health-care providers.

Note: The service can handle Tele-typewriting or Text telephone (TTY) calls.

Eligibility

Description

The poison information line is accessed by calling 911 after an individual has been in contact or has potentially been in contact with a poison. The 911 dispatch transfers the call to a Registered Nurse who collects pertinent information and assesses caller needs. Based on this assessment the Registered Nurse will provide specific information for self-care and when appropriate refer the caller to a hospital emergency room for follow up.
