Overview
Crown Waterfront Reserves (CWR) are strips of land ranging in depth from 20.1 metres to 60.4 metres (66 feet or 1 chain to 198 feet or 3 chains) along the bank(s) of a watercourse or a lake and were created by the Crown at the time of the original land grant.

Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 19 years of age.
All requirements of the Department’s Crown Waterfront Reserve Policy must be met before submitting an application to request authorization of an occupation via grant, lease, easement or licence of occupation. If an occupation does not meet specific criteria established in the policy, then it must be removed.
Description
The Department retains CWR's as public lands to complement a variety of provincial resource management programs and statutes related to conservation, environmental protection and sustainability. As a result, CWR’s are seldom granted. They may be used by the public for occasional low impact recreational activities.
