Overview
A Bituminous Shale Licence to Search grants exclusive right to explore for bituminous shale.
Eligibility
A licence to search for bituminous shale shall be granted to the person or company submitting the successful tender in a 'Call for Tenders' for the purchase of a licence to search.
Description
A licence area shall not exceed 81 sections (28,917 ha. approx.) and not be smaller than 28 sections (9,996 ha. approx.).
A licence to search is valid for an initial term of 3 years, renewal for a maximum of 2 consecutive annual periods.
Fees
Unless otherwise specified, Fees exclude the harmonized sales tax (HST).
