Overview

The objective of the Games Hosting component of the program is to provide assistance to community sport partners in hosting community/regional multi-sport events. Regional Games are held as an extra competition opportunity and provide New Brunswickers with opportunities to engage in physical activity, and encourages them to continue a healthy, active lifestyle throughout their lives.

Eligibility

Not-for profit organization, local community sport or recreation organization and municipalities.

Description

Consultant services and financial contributions are also available to organizations hosting locally held sporting events that are development in nature. These events should provide opportunities for participants to improve their skills, have fun, and be active. Funding ought to be directed towards administration, organizing, and planning. Priority is to be given to youth and senior opportunities. Regional Games should involve several communities and include a minimum of five (5) physical activities and/or sports.

Examples of eligible games include:

• Youth Regional Games;
• Senior Games (55+);
• Aboriginal Games;
• Person with a disability (PWAD) Games;
• Locally held sporting events that are developmental in nature.

**Funding application must be received by March 15th of each year to remain eligible for consideration
