The Department of Social Development, through New Brunswick Housing, is one of the largest landlords in New Brunswick – possibly even the largest – with more than 4,500 units.
Responsible Pet Ownership Policy in
New Brunswick's Public Housing
Providing its residents with the highest quality living experience is of utmost importance to the Department of Social Development.
Effective December 1, 2012, a new Responsible Pet Ownership Policy was implemented for New Brunswick public housing units.
While pets can be a rewarding addition to any family, they come with responsibilities. Courtesy and respect are part of being a good neighbour and also a necessity when it comes to responsible pet ownership.
The new Responsible Pet Ownership Policy clearly lays out the rules public housing tenants must follow if they wish to own a pet.
