Overview

Liquor licences are required by persons who want to sell or manufacture liquor products in New Brunswick.

Eligibility

A liquor licence is required by any person who wants to sell liquor in a public place or who wants to manufacture alcoholic beverages.

Description

All liquor permit applicants must be 19 years of age or older.

A special permit is required for the use of liquor by a pharmacist, dentist, veterinary or medical practitioner, a person engaged in a mechanical or manufacturing business or in scentific pursuits.

A special occasion permit (no sale) is required for the giving of liquor at a one-day event (i.e wedding, family reunion, milestone birthday).

A special occasion permit (resale) is required for the selling of liquor at one-day events such as weddings, family reunions, milestone birthdays, etc.

The Liquor Control Act is administered by the Department of Public Safety.
