Overview

Private Trainers delivering programs to enhance or improve a person's employability are required to register under the Private Occupational Training Act (Act) in order to receive a certificate of registration.

Eligibility

Private Trainers delivering any programs in excess of 21 hours for which a tuition is collected. They are required to register under the Act and to provide Financial Security (Surety Bond or Irrevocable Letter of Credit) for the first two years of operation. All students enrolled in a registered program are required to pay a 1% Student Protection Fee, which must be submitted by the training organization along with the student list.

Description

The Private Occupational Training Branch regulates the private occupational training sector in order to provide protection for students' investments and support a vibrant, healthy private training sector.
