Overview

The objective of the Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) is to improve literacy levels in the province by bringing literacy training opportunities to adults in their own community.

Eligibility

This program is open to adult learners 18 years of age and over. This program is offered free of charge. Those who are interested in the program should contact the Adult Learning Consultant in their region.

Description

In this program, adult learners can obtain instruction in English or French. Academic services for Levels 1 and 2 and CAEC preparation are accessible in 70 communities throughout the province. Programs are customized for individual learners' needs. The program offers standardized curriculum and testing providing accreditation for further study. Learners who complete the CAEC preparation component of the program may go on to write the CAEC tests.
