Official Languages Day in New Brunswick

Starting this year, Official Languages Day in New Brunswick will be celebrated annually on the second Thursday of September. Premier Blaine Higgs recently signed a declaration to this effect.

Co-operation agreement renewed with the Département de la Vienne, France

New Brunswick participates in meeting of the Ministers’ Council on the Canadian Francophonie

Local Government Minister Glen Savoie, who is also minister responsible for La Francophonie, participated in the annual meeting of the federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for French services, for the Francophonie or for official languages in Vancouver on July 6-7 to discuss key issues for the country’s francophone and Acadian communities.

Official visit by the ambassador of Czech Republic

Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Tammy Scott-Wallace, who is also minister responsible for Women’s Equality, met with Bořek Lizec, the Czech Republic’s ambassador to Canada. Ambassador of Norway visits New Brunswick

Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Minister Ross Wetmore (left) met with Anne Kari H. Ovind, Norway’s ambassador to Canada, on Nov. 26, in Fredericton. Norway is an important importer of New Brunswick seafood with many opportunities to expand. Discussions focused on market opportunities as well as a number of areas of mutual interest including ocean economy, research and aquaculture.
