The General Status of Wild Species is an assessment of, currently, more than 9,300 of New Brunswick's birds, mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, spiders, shellfish, plants, mosses, lichens, and other wild species. It considers factors relating to the abundance, distribution, trends, and threats of species in New Brunswick, and identifies which species are doing well and which require greater management or conservation measures. Assessments are ongoing and are part of a cooperative effort with other provincial, territorial, and federal wildlife departments and conservation data centres across Canada.
