Important information prior to applying for a Wild Turkey Hunting Licence:

  • You must complete a review of the information provided regarding the hunting of wild turkey before you are eligible to apply to the Wild Turkey Draw. This material will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and consists of the following topics:
        1. Wild Turkey Biology
        2. Wild Turkey Identification – Adult Birds
        3. Wild Turkey Hunting Safety Tips
  • You must also have previous hunting experience or Firearms Safety/Hunter Education course (gun hunters) or a stand-alone Bowhunter Education course (bow/crossbow hunters) to apply to the Wild Turkey Draw.
  • You will need to enter your Outdoors Card number to complete the Wild Turkey Hunting Course.
  • The Resident Wild Turkey Draw runs for 4 weeks ending on the first Friday in April.  Applications can be made online through the Fish and Wildlife Licensing System or in person at an authorized vendor or a Service New Brunswick.
  • The draw application fee is $6.00 + HST.
  • You may choose from one of the available Wildlife Management Zones (WMZ) in which you would like to apply for your Wild Turkey Licence.
  • Applicants can check the results of the draw by visiting Apply for a Draw (gnb.ca)
  • Successful applicants who purchase a Wild Turkey Hunting Licence must submit a Turkey Harvest Report Form by June 14th of the same year.  The form will be provided and is also available by visiting Go Hunting (gnb.ca)
