Government of New Brunswick

Non-resident anglers require a licensed guide when fishing for Atlantic salmon, or other species, on Guide Required Waters after the designated date. On other types of waters, a guide is not required.

Refer to the Fish Book – Summary of Regulations for a description of Guide Required Waters and information pertaining to the purchase of Non-resident licences.

The number of persons that can be accompanied by a guide depends on the type of guide licence held by the guide and the angling situation.

A Guide I (Professional guide) may guide up to three licensed anglers at a time while wading or fishing from shore or one licensed angler if angling from a boat. A Guide II (Licence to accompany) may accompany only one licensed angler at a time.
