As a result of changes to the Firearms Act (Canada) which came into effect June 18, 2015, the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development (NRED) no longer offers a home-study or challenge option for the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (Part A). In order to successfully complete the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (Part A), you must register for a classroom course through your nearest NRED Office. The home-study option for the Atlantic Provinces Hunter Education Course (Part B) is still being offered.
