Overview
The dredging of inner harbors and open water channels along New Brunswick coastlines are often required to ensure the safety of watercraft navigation. The Department's main concerns with the disposal of dredging material on land are siltation of aquatic habitat and salt contamination of fresh water resources by marine dredging material.

Description
The guideline for the Siting and Operation of a Dredging Material Disposal Site on Land is intended to provide direction for the safe disposal of dredging material on land in New Brunswick. The guideline has been developed to minimize potential resulting environmental impacts.
